Infants:

While we can never match the care provided by a parent, PRINCETON ACADEMY is committed to trying. Our focus is on individualized care with teachers seeking to promote optimal physical and social development. Our goal is to nurture…hugging and cuddling provide a crucial sense of security. Activities are designed for infant stimulation and discovery.

Toddlers:

Our main goal at this age is to provide the encouraging support needed for your increasingly independent toddler. Children are grouped by developmental level. Our program encourages language growth, sharing, cognitive, social and self-help skills and potty-training.

Preschool:

Our preschoolers play and learn in a flexible open-ended program which focuses on the “whole child”. Skills learned at one level form the foundation for the next. Children enjoy hands-on experiences; in turn, they indicate their readiness for some sophistication in curriculum. These children acquire a variety of skills and concepts, as well as the appropriate vocabulary with which to talk about their experiences; additional enrichment is offered in science, music, social studies and simple math concepts. We use Creative Curriculum – the only recognized curriculum for Colorado Shines quality rating – for our preschool programs

Our goals in the preschool classroom are:

  • fine motor skills such as cutting along lines, cutting circles, letter tracing
  • recognition of letters, both upper and lower case
  • number recognition up to 15
  • basic shape recognition
  • social skill building: communicating with others and public speaking during “show and tell”

Pre-Kindergarten:

As pre-kindergarten children discover that their legs, fingers and eyes are coordinated into a unit that responds to their thoughts, they indicate their readiness for sophistication in curriculum. Our Pre-kindergarten Program helps children acquire a variety of skills and concepts as well as the appropriate vocabulary with which to talk about their experiences. The teacher has a choice of strategies and materials with which to work/play with a group or an individual.

The Pre-K classroom works on:

  • letters
  • math skills
  • beginning writing skills
  • visual discrimination
  • site words
  • cutting skills
  • rhyming

School Age, Summer Day Camp, and Before and After Care:

This is the age when children feel they are ready to venture out on their own, but yet still require the adult supervision needed to ensure a well-rounded individual. Our program allows freedom to express the child’s views in a constructive and supervised program. Both the Before and After School Programs have the ability for bussing to area schools. Our Summer Camp/ Off Track Program offers exciting field trips and well supervised activities.
